The Story:

Taking place over the course of one day, the film follows Jay as he returns to L.A. following the death of his father. With the help of a stranger, Jay must find a way to navigate his new life while dealing with the question, “What happens to you after your father dies?”

Above the Clouds is the debut feature film of writer/director Jon Hill. Originally a short film, the feature length film is the culmination of 13 years of hard work and perseverance.

The Team:

Writer/Director - Jon Hill is an Emmy Award winning producer making his feature film directing debut. Based on real events following the loss of his father, Above the Clouds is the culmination of ten years of trying to bring this story to the big screen. You can see his work at JonHillDirects.com.

Cinematographer - Nathan Cornett is a cinematographer working in Los Angeles and New York. His work can be seen on this season of Saturday Night Live and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson. Other credits include Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Comedy Bang! Bang!, and Drunk History. Producer - Sean Cook earned an MFA in Performance Pedagogy from the University of Pittsburgh. He is Adjunct Faculty in the BFA Acting Programs at Hussian College in Los Angeles and at AMDA in Hollywood. Sean has worked with numerous celebrity actors and directors including Antonio Banderas, Vera Farmiga, Jimmi Simpson, and Jon Favreau.

Producer - Dan Riesser is a filmmaker, post supervisor and Emmy-nominated producer with experience in narrative features, short films, documentaries, music videos, web series and more. In addition to his own work, Dan loves to weasel his way into friends' projects and is excited to help Jon make his first feature film. Dan has three daughters and is very tired.

Producer - Justin Oberman, born and raised in California, has been working in Los Angeles and abroad for over a decade on films, commercials, music videos, and tv shows. Justin's work ranges from independent film, including Goodbye World, Cold Turkey, Prisoner's Daughter, and LX2048. He has produced music videos and content for U2, Maroon 5, Miguel, Ty Dolla $ign, Lollapalooza and Jimmy Napes. Producing great material is his aim.

Composer - Peter Mudge a.k.a Nice Rec. Nice Rec is a Pittsburgh based producer and DJ who dabbles in a variety of styles spanning Hip-Hop, Funk, R&B, and House. He is best known for his work with Dreamville, Mac Miller, and Wiz Khalifa. Listen to his work HERE.
